With the tough loss to Kokomo in the sectionals, the football season is over. And with the cool temperatures, leaves falling, and did I see a few snow flurries in the air yesterday?…it can mean only one thing:

BASKETBALL SEASON IS APPROACHING

Both the boys (next Monday) and girls (this past Monday) team are preparing and both should have excellent seasons.

The girls team returns a lot from last year’s “ELITE 8,” regional final participant, including senior Carmen Lowe, junior Emily Bley, and sophomore Sydney Buck. Add them to some other really good talent and the Lady Spartans should have another banner year. Tune in to games periodically and check back here for games to be aired on 91FM.

The boys team lost a lot of talented seniors, but return potential all-conference PG Nick Gamble. Add him to a host of Spartans with varsity minutes and a few underclassmen making the jump from JV and Coach Chris Johnson’s team should once again be battling for a conference title and possible sectional title. The first game will be aired on 91FM on Wednesday, November 23rd live from Huntington North.
